Time Wasted
I wasted so much time this year trying to start a life with the wrong person. Damaged some very important friendships trying to defend her and moved across the country with someone I thought I loved, then left a great job and moved back home because she didn’t want to be there any longer because of my work schedule working 15 days at a time for 16 hours a day (granted she didn’t have to lift a finger, in fact I told her not to work because I was able to support the both of us without struggling.). Only to move back and have it all fall apart thanks to the struggles of addiction. I’m doing my best to forgive her and forget the whole thing, but I know my sense of trust and enthusiasm to be with anyone is going to be a struggle. Life is hard but you’ll never learn if you don’t live it. Don’t allow someone to walk all over you, I set boundaries and drew lines in the sand 10,000 times over to give her chance after chance, learn to stand your ground even if it means you have to stick to your word and end a relationship that’s only causing you stress. Every relationship should have ups and downs, but there should never be more downs that vastly outweigh the good times. It’s a hard decision to make and it’s easy to be caught up in a relationship where you want to be the person to pull someone out of the drowning waters of addiction, but don’t let that person pull you down with them. You can never change anyone, they have to want the change for the better, you’ll know if the sincerity it’s there but don’t hold out forever for someone who always says they’re changing without sincerity, their actions will speak a hell of a lot louder than their words. Addiction is the saddest thing I’ve seen by far, and fuck if I’ll ever become that.

This lion’s name is Bonedigger and he was born with a crippling bone disease, so the keepers introduced three dachshunds to give him companionship; Abby, Bullet and Milo.
They’re his pride now!
